Itaipu Dam

It is the worlds largest hydroelectric dam, which is located between Brazil and Paraguay border. The Itaipu dam hydroelectric power plant produces a 103,098,366 megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy. The Itaipu Dam is completed in 1984, and it is a dam which is run by two Countries Brazil and Paraguay. The Itaipu Dam is placed on Foz do Iguacu in Brazil and Ciudad Este in Paraguay. The construction cost of the Itaipu dam is 19.6 Billion US dollar. The highest of Itaipu dam is 196 meter and length is 7919 meter.

Jinping-I Dam

Jinping-I Dam is the tallest Dam in the World which have a height of 305 meters. It is located on the Jinping bend of the Yalong river in China. It is producing 16 to 18 TWh energy annually, with a power station of capacity 3,600 Mw. Its construction began in 2005 and was completed in 2014. The length of a Dam is 568.6 meter. It has turbines of 6 multiply 600 Mw Francis-type.

Tarbela Dam

Tarbela Dam is located on the Indus river in Pakistan, which is the largest earth-filled dam and largest dam by volume in the world. It has a volume of 156*10^6 cubic meters. The Terbela Dam has a height of 143 meters from the riverbed and has a surface area of 250 square kilometers. Its construction began in 1968 and ends on 1976. Tarbela has a capacity of 6,298 Mw energy.

Three Gorges Dam

Three Gorges Dam is the Worlds second largest Dam in terms of hydroelectric power. It is located in different provinces of China, which covers the Yangtze River. it has the Installed Capacity of 22,500 Mw, which produces 98.8 terawatt hours of energy. Its Construction began in 1994 and ends in 2003.
Three Gorges dam has a height of 181 meters and length of 2,335 meters. It has a capacity of 39.3 cubic kilometers.

Nurek Dam

Nurek Dam is the second-largest Dam in the World, in terms of height. Nurek Dam has a height of 300 meters. It is located on the Vaksh river in Tajikistan. it has an installed capacity of 3,095 kW. The construction of Nurek Dam was begun in 1961 and completed in 1980. It has a length of 700 meters and a capacity of 10,500 square kilometers.

Fort Peck Dam

The Fort Peck Dam is the second largest Dam in the World, in terms of volume capacity. It has a volume of  96*10^6 cubic meter. The fort peck dam has a height of  76 meters and a length of  6409 meters. It is located in Northeast of Montana in the United States and along Missouri River. it has an installed capacity of 185 MW and it produces 1048 GW power annually. Its construction began in 1933 and end in 1940.

Xiluodu Dam

The Xiluodu Dam is on the Jinsha River, which is located on China. It is the third-largest dam in the World, in terms of hydro-electric power generation. It has an installed capacity of 13,860 MW. The Xiluodu Dam has a height of 285.5 meters and a length of 700 meters. The construction of Xiluodu Dam began in 2005 and ends in 2013. it has a construction cost of  $ 6.2 billion.

Xiaowan Dam

The Xiaowan Dam is the Worlds third tallest Dam, which is located on the Lancang River in China. It has a height of 292 meters. It produces a hydroelectric power with an installed capacity of  4200 MW. The Xiaowan Dam has a length of 902 meters. Its Construction began in 2002 and ends in 2010. the construction cost of the Xiaowan dam is 3.9 billion US dollar. It is also the third largest hydroelectric power generation station in China.
